This is a bargain box set containing two Mozart operas recorded in 1990 and 1992, when Norrington, who currently performs a wide range of repertoire with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, led the London Classical Players he founded and was active as a leading figure in the period instrument group. Both performances are extremely fresh and fast, and Norrington's unique performance is very attractive, as he captivates the listener with the spirit of the music itself rather than the academic aspects.
