Since her major label debut, "Watermark," in 1988, Enya has sold over 75 million copies worldwide (over 4.5 million in Japan). This is her seventh album, her first in seven years since "Snow and Ice." The new album, "Dark Sky Island," was heavily inspired by the island of Sark, a real-life island in the British Channel Islands. Even in the 21st century, the island has its own laws and autonomy, including a ban on cars, and is known as "the island where you can view the most beautiful starry sky in the world." As with their previous albums, the new album was produced primarily by three people: Enya (main character and lead singer), producer Nicky Ryan, and Nicky's wife, Roma Ryan, who writes all of the lyrics. The lead track, "Echoes in Rain," is a beautiful song that touches the heart with the exquisite harmony of Enya's unparalleled vocals and the majestic track.
