Just when he thinks he can finally relax after defeating Bowser, a giant sword suddenly falls from the sky. The sword pierces Bowser's castle, and Mario is blown away by the impact, so he decides to go looking for Peach again. On the way, Mario learns that the sword that pierced Bowser's castle destroyed the Star Road, which grants people's wishes, and the pieces, the Star Pieces, have been scattered around the world. When you're fighting a monster, selecting an action command will allow you to attack the entire monster or reduce damage taken to zero. Starting with this title, if you successfully execute action commands in succession, a "chain" will be formed, increasing the abilities of your allies and giving you an advantage in battle. While you're not used to it, there's also a support function that will cause an "!" mark to appear at just the right time. Also, each time an action command is successful, a gauge will fill up. When this gauge reaches 100%, the three people in battle will be able to combine their powers and unleash a special "three-person technique." ■Additional Elements■After the ending, you can now rematch some of the bosses you encountered during your adventure. The bosses you rematch have been powered up to be more difficult to defeat. Other additions include a "Monster List" that records various information about monsters you fight, and a "Sound Player" that lets you listen to background music from both the Super Famicom and Nintendo Switch versions at any time.
