This model kit is a special metallic gloss injection edition of the Prototype Gundam, sold exclusively at the Gundam Base Tokyo location. We've taken the painstaking and high-quality work out of importing this model kit directly from the USA to Japan -- so you don't need to worry about it arriving in a mismatched package.

Conceived 35 years after the original Gundam, this new version of the First Gundam features nearly the same number of parts as its 2001 predecessor, but features 1.5 times the movement, making it easier to recreate iconic poses from the Gundam TV series. The kusabi (wedge) gate system allows for noticeable seams without removing the runner marks.

High Grade (HG) is an affordable line designed for fans of smaller scale plastic models, such as 1/144 scale. Introduced in 1990 as the HG series, the series offers improved mobility and excellent poseability. The usual Bandai-grade kits feature beautiful detailing, including finger movement. Standard snap-fitting with tools is available. Parts are pre-colored, as usual. This special edition RX-78-2 Gundam model is sold exclusively at Gundam Base Tokyo.
